I have been working as business-system analyst for over 12 years now. During my career I have worked for large international companies, where I was responsible for:

Modelling business requirements
Providing business and system analysis
Gathering detailed requirement both with individual stakeholders and cross-sections of client/company/subject matter expert groups
Eliciting and analyzing information necessary to document system requirements, software specifications and functionality.
Providing support during user acceptance tests
Providing support to the development team
